The Riser Team Bobble-fied

Santa was good to the Riserites this year. He knew just what they wanted… custom bobbleheads of themselves to match the amazing bobblehead collection at the office. All the bobbles were good… but some of them were quite an astonishing likeness.

Check them all out on the Riser Flickr gallery!

Riser Bobbleheads

Two parts cool, one part creepy. Those are some pretty amazing bobblehead likenesses!

Riser Holiday Sham-a-lam 2012

The Riser’s all hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicklaus soon would be there.

The Riser teamed joined together last Saturday night in true Riser fashion to celebrate the holiday season. Delectable catering from Blue Lemon restaurant filled the Riserite tummies. Mike’s poem and slideshow “Twas the nigh before Riser” was a laughable success. Josh Child took home “Employee of the Year” honors. The night’s highlight reel includes custom team bobbleheads gifts and a karaoke for cash activity. A merry time was had by all. We’re already looking forward to next year!

A Yellow Balloon at the Lagoon

When you work hard, you’ve gotta play hard!  To reward everyone for the great work they’ve been doing, we took everyone up to Lagoon for lunch and Fistfuls of Moolah!  We played a little trivia for the cash.  It was a head to head match-up over the Rubber Duckie; whoever knew the answer and grabbed the Duckie first won $6, the loser only got $5!

Also, everyone got a GoPro Hero2 to document their epic lives out of the office.  We will put up some video proof soon!

You have to admit we have a good looking team!  Check out the whole day on Flickr.

Sword Of Initiative

A show of initiative at Riser is worth more that a kick in the pants! In fact, those who show initiative and stand out, become the proud keeper of the “Sword of Initiative” that has been retrieved from the “speaker rock”. This camelot-esque trophy remains at said initiator’s desk for a period of 1 month to the envy of all other Riserites!

We’ve Moved!

After months of hard work and decorating decisions we have finally decorated the new Riser office enough to post some pics. Last fall, we stumbled upon a great new building in Pleasant Grove, Utah and made the purchase. A few months of construction ensued and we finally moved in at the end of March. Mountainous views are found from every window… it is amazing that anyone gets any work done. We are all happy here.

Check out the full gallery on Flickr.

We’ll be having an open house in July. Details coming soon.

Riser Wins Best of State x3 (2012)

For the fourth year in a row, Riser shined as a Best of State Winner by taking home three Best of State Medals. The medals were won in the Graphic Design, Interactive/Multimedia and Web Design categories. Michael Janda, Jeff Jolley, Josh Child and Carol Call attended the black tie gala along with their significant others to celebrate the achievement. The addition of these three medals makes a total of eight Best of State Medals and one Best of State Statue (BOSS) which the team won in 2011 for the Science and Technology category. The award gala was hosted by CBS News anchor, Shauna Lake, and featured entertainment by The Crescent Super Band, The Salt Lake Choral Artists, The Amercian Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic and other entertainers.

BIG KUDOS to the dedicated team at Riser for making us who we are!

Riser’s Mike Janda is on the cover of Business Q magazine?

In spite of their goal to sell more magazines, the great folks at Business Q used Riser’s own, Mike Janda, on the cover of the winter edition of their mag to help promote their article, “The Cool Kids: Utah Valley’s 10 Hippest and Happenin’ Entrepreneurs”. Let the “fifteen minutes of fame clock” begin… tick, tock, tick, tock…

If you’re interested in reading the full article, visit the Business Q website.

If you’re still in disbelief and need to see the cover for yourself, check it out here.

Super big thanks to the great people at Business Q magazine. They are, without a doubt, some of the best folks around.

Riser Holiday Sham-a-Lam 2011

It’s that time of year again! The Riser team gathered together to fill their bellies with egg nog punch and their hearts with holiday cheer at the Janda’s residence for the annual Holiday Sham-a-Lam. The usual activities ensued… foosball battles, pool sharking and gluttony. This year’s highlight, as all would agree, was the the iPad 2 gifted to each employee. The smell of aluminum and high quality packaging filled the Riserites hearts like Santa’s bowl full of jelly. We’re already looking forward to next year’s festivities!

Thank you Santa Riser!

Riser Sings Monster Mash

Perhaps there was no demand for this. Perhaps there was questionable talent involved. These two minor stumbling blocks didn’t stop the Riser team from performing their rendition of Monster Mash as a Halloween treat for their fan. Yep, I said “fan” (thanks Mom for your support). William Hung has got nothing on us. Enjoy…
